1957 MGA Coupe Vin HMR327758 Introduced for 1956 model year, the MGA replaced the aging T-Series cars. Powered by a 72 horsepower 1,489cc overhead valve engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission it featured, independent front suspension, rack-and-pinion steering and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. Braking was by hydraulic drums at all corners. Total production for the coupes was a mere 6,273, where as total units produced for the convertibles exceeded 50,000 cars. Features: The smooth flowing lines and a more luxurious interior trim than the convertibles set the standard for the MGA coupes throughout their production life. These early production cars had white indicator lamps at the front and the rear. This car is a solid #3 car! During restoration this car was completely disassembled and reassembled. Restoration was completed to a good driver restoration level. The car was taken to bare metal and refinished as you see it. New carpet & seat covering were installed, the engine & carbs were rebuilt, there is good oil pressure at full operating temperature at both acceleration and at idle and so smoke under any circumstances. Electrical work was performed as need to ensure that all components work as designed. Brakes were completely gone through and new master cylinder was fitted. The suspension was thoroughly checked and fitted with new springs. The car sports a European rallye look with white top, red body, bumpers & irons removed and rallye air dam added (the bumpers and irons will come with the car). Hagertys Describes a # 3 as: #3 cars drive and run well, but might have some incorrect parts. These cars are not used for daily transportation but are ready for a long tour without excuses, and the casual passerby will not find any visual flaws. "Good" is the one word description of a #3 car. The bumpers on this example have been removed from the car to give it a more for race appearance. The metal dash has been upgraded to wood.
